Trump's Madison Square Garden Rally ~ Sunday's MAGA Midtown Invasion
Given presstitute hysteria likening Trump to Hitler and 1934 Nazi mobs it was critical to reality check the historic parallel up close.. feel the crowd energy and see how NYPD deploy for 50,000 MAGA.
Whenever there’s a huge NYC event the NYPD crowd control prep and traffic management are unmatched. For out or towners it was a four mile perimeter on both sides of the street to keep vechicle & pedestrian traffic flowing but far from freely.
This is 34th Street looking west with barriers from Sixth to Eighth Ave then south to 29th the first open crosstown block. That’s a four mile perimeter and I walked the loop from Greely Square. This is by far the most barriers and fewest police for any crowd a ratio that makes Palestine protest policing feel even more unbalanced.
It was 3pm by the time I got there and the event began at five.. huge lines were reported by local news by 10am so this is the end not the peak. Crowd control always makes me think of January 6th at the Capitol where Congress dole out “defense” funds by the trillions & claim to victims on January 6th despite all the tweet policing and full spectrum surveillance and weapons and troops and no spending limit.
Nowhere but Washington can you boast of your superior capabilities and argue for more money and power based on epic failure for even minimal job performance. The louder the official claims of victimhood the higher liklihood it was orchestrated.
There was a counter protest on the post office steps across Eighth Avenue from the Garden at most 100 people in one section. Police were scattered around but the post office and Amtrack activity was not interrupted, even the old Penn Station entrance was open with minimal security.
Trump crowds filling the area in pre-event tourist mode and in line across the street walked past without a second look almost like true New Yorkers.
In and around the barricaded area there were anti-Trump signs too and seemed entirely ignored by the Trumpers despite uncivilized portrayal in corp media. The balance of the images are in random order not along the route selected to give a better sense of the entire area and crowds which were as mellow, polite and litter free as any huge groups NYC ever hosted.
Hat tip to the presstitutes who endlessly lie to decieve the public and finally jumped the shark with deplorable and facsist enablers as the enemy who look like everyone at the grocery store or the mall or school; they are your neighbors and coworkers and they look like fellow Americans.
Since real life requires tolerance for people who have wacky ideas, terrible fashion or icky food choices most of us can get along confident the freedom to make our own choices is good enough maybe even preferable system. Street vendors embrace the differences and aim to sell to everyone mayne politicians would do better to listen to public demands and zoom in as if ideas were a free market too. More reasons to love New York.. Flickr pics probably Tuesday.. see you in the streets! :~)
ps.. proofreading would help in lieu of skills to edit and not resend but need to add the best part of sorting pictures... gray hoodie vendor w fight fight fight & dreadlocks telephoto looked like undercover.. slowly percolating thought was an absence of uniforms is deployed in street clothes.. by the thousands.. then found the booth leaner camera pair.. even the sharp shooters lacked menacing SWAT team energy.. calm, happy fun for all zero drama or even burps, no transit disruptions run like a top and it was a hugely proud accomplishment for planners & teams that made it happen!
Another winner. Thank you for letting us see what was happening outside MSG. So little real coverage. Watched a lot of inside. Pretty amazing and strong but laced with some outrageous laugh lines. You heard them all on MSM. Only a few of them on Harris speakers. We are becoming quite uncivil. If they were more serious about us, they would take the time to speak more intelligently and deeply about what we need. Who trusts any. of them, but Trump people did have some really good, rousing speeches. His campaign is a lot more fun and probably more dangerous. I'll show them with my third-party vote.
