Yesterday's 420 Big Apple Revolution
People filled the streets with a vibrant energy that felt rooted in a memory that the heart of New York is a kaleidoscope of our fellow humans crowding together.
The streets of New York are my happy place and reading the energy is part of what makes a good picture for me as a capture of lifestyle and culture.
It was spetacularly overcrowded and pulsed with vast waves of people moving.
My trek went from breakfast at Brighton Beach to Central Park West 110th Street sunset w countless neighborhoods checked in between, a fair read of out collective temperature as perfectly perfect.
For the first time in too long the air was filled with that old New Yorker Moxie, attitude that says that if NYC is living dangerously bring it on; we’re busy living and know dangers abound but embracong life matters more.
Summertime temps and weed everywhere certainly helped a bit but it wasn’t that it was people unplugged from their devices, laughing and jostling crowds.
It’s as if a three year detour to dark fearful hybernation was finally broken and it’s about flippin time welcome back.
Today is another ideal weather day and calling me to the streets so I’m here just long enough to charge my camera batteries and share the good news.
Mother Nature has won a big round let’s learn our lesson and stay in crowds forever! See you in the streets <3
