Nearly One Year of Genocide

It's an unthinkable milestone and horrific reflection of Washington's values

There was a protest at the main library yesterday. One flyer was for a Saturday rally in Times Square with October 5th as the start of the second year of student resistance.

Having gone to many protests lots of signs are familiar but this one was new to me and it captures what I want to scream about so many issues in our lives, problems made by those sworn to serve the public but totally disconnected from reality and indifferent to the devastation of their insanity.

From the library the group marched to the United Nations across 42nd but navigating crowds at rush hour was too much to battle when Sunday’s event on the Washington Mall will be lots of leg work and exhausting trip and sorting volumes factor too.

No worries there’s plenty of shots to catch the spirit and fun story of press and police on the SE corner of 41st facing the library. You can get a sense of the crowd size but nothing beats the view from scaffolding that’s the city’s gift of perfect perches.

From the perfect perch, while grabbing this shot there was a deep voice calling Maam you can’t be there. Of course he might have been talking to anyone so I didn’t look until a young NYPD uniform tapped my foot and asked what I was doing up there and my obvious answer, for a better picture and thank you for a hand getting down. The professionals have their giant lenses and show up in huge numbers along with foreign media streaming and doing street interviews with people in the crowd.

There was only one counter protester with an Israel flag and he was quickly surrounde by NYPD and escorted across the street with a hoard of media gathering as they caught sight of polics moving in packs.

The balance are a some favorite location and signs from the day..sorting must be done tomorrow to be ready for Sunday.
