Occupy was a non movement that made no demands.

I only heard thru garland Nixon, that 100 were arrested at Columbia. I am sure Victoria nuland will be happy to teach folks how to coup and kill, during her tenure with Hilary the murderess who is already a professor there. What do the war criminal professors claim to profess?

Death and killing poor helpless people

Occupy was amazing in creating the first worldwide movement with the idea we are the 99% and share problems made by global corp power and war machine. To trivialize the networking, solidarity and awareness raised around the world is a huge mistake in my book.

Columbia president suspended 120 student protesters then called in NYPD to arrest them for trespassing, but thousands cheered the resistance and by the time they were released the encampment was larger and spread to other schools in solidarity. Maybe tomorrow I'll go check out NYU situation but the old hippie in me is very encouraged this anti-war movement is rooted in far deeper understanding and solidarity around the globe. Fingers crossed the revolution is well underway and the peace lovers will prevail because as you note genocide of innocents is abhorrent by rational humans.

I think almost all the protests I see around here are stage managed, fake, and well controlled, like the so called answer coalition , must be an intelligence op

Very many are staged like Gretta's climate and Hillary pink pussy hat events both totally managed PR events nothing organic at all. The summer of BLM was a hybrid with genuine grass roots enlisted into managed campaign.. but the anger of individuals is real and that energy is diverted ala Bernie Sanders.. uggh!

I only stated a fact, and that was not my idea.

What is my idea? I saw occupy as a trial run for what became , well, the immolation of resistance, like colour revolutions. Something in my city was badly wrong about the movement here.

I won't try to voice what it was, but I want to say that after it was cleared up, then later paper actually became homeless, all around my bay area, and they cleared up almost all the visible encampments in SF killafornia.

From what I can see, they chased most homeless people over to brOakland, where they don't mess with you as much ....

Very likely there was groundwork laid for attitude and policy shifts... what's the saying, never let a crisis go to waste so your take is spot on for exploitation benefit. California in general and Oakland specifically have unique impacts and politics, frequently leading National indicators. Even OWS in its earliest days NYC was unlike what you experienced there so it is a valuable perspective from another vantage point. I'm probably hyper-reactive from idiot Bret Weinstein and fellow Palintir/ Intellectual Dark Web tools recent dismissals as two week nothing burger of unemployed malcontents.. sorry for unintended push back! :~)

Kudos to the students! and thank you for showing a true picture of what is actually happening on the campus ground. The extent of false reporting is thru the roof, it's incomprehensible to me that this continues. The war in Vietnam came to an end largely thanks to the students; dare I hope for a repeat? Meanwhile, here in Europe people are .... never mind, it's too depressing to think about

After returning home to NYC after several days away, I was so interested in what was going on at Columbia, and then NYU, Yale, etc. It is so hard to get any good coverage, so I was delighted that our favorite intrepid photojournalist was on the scene to help with an inside look. Thank you for being there and sharing this with us. Beautiful photos and reportage.
